KSPRS Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Greetings, I am Daegu Son, the chairman of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS).

To all members of KSPRS, international members, and attendees, I sincerely thank you for joining us at PRS KOREA 2025 and extend a warm welcome.

I understand that many of you have been concerned about the president’s impeachment earlier this year and by the ongoing conflict related to the debate over increasing medical school admission quotas that began last year. However, I firmly believe that our mature democratic mindset and the mutual trust we share will see us through this crisis. South Korea remains secure, and KSPRS continues to uphold and advance our healthcare system even in the absence of residents. We are dedicated to establishing an exceptional training environment for our future residents.

PRS KOREA has established itself as a major international academic conference, drawing plastic surgery scholars, clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals from around the globe. Scholars present their research findings and receive constructive feedback to further enhance the quality of their work, while clinicians exchange knowledge and learn cutting-edge surgical techniques. Moreover, PRS KOREA serves as a vital platform for unveiling new technologies, products, international collaborations, and partnerships.

KSPRS aims to provide more opportunities for presentations and to invite world-renowned scholars to share their insights and visions for the future, collaboratively shaping the trajectory of plastic surgery. Medicine is an applied science, and plastic surgery is uniquely responsive to the rapid pace of scientific advancements and new technological developments. The potential applications are limitless. AI, big data, and quantum computing will profoundly transform our future. How should we study, research, and implement these innovations?

Let us engage in serious and impassioned discussions at PRS KOREA 2025.

Let us fully embrace the beauty and sophistication of Korea at PRS KOREA 2025.

PRS KOREA 2025 is yours.

Dear Colleagues,

I am honored to welcome you as President of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS). Founded in 1961, KSPRS has grown into a distinguished academic society through the enduring dedication and valuable contributions of our members, who have consistently upheld and advanced the traditions of our field.

As the leading society representing plastic surgery in Korea, KSPRS comprises three affiliated societies—the Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, and the Yeongnam & Honam Regional Society—as well as 18 specialized academic societies and related associations, including the Korean Society for Microsurgery, the Korean Wound Society, the Korean Burn Society, the Korean Society for Head and Neck Surgery, and the Korean Society for Peripheral Nerve Surgery. KSPRS continues to set the standard for medical excellence domestically and globally across a broad spectrum of specialties within plastic surgery.

PRS KOREA is a premier event that brings together plastic surgeons, residents, and medical professionals from Korea, Asia, and around the globe to share their academic insights and professional experiences. PRS KOREA 2025 will serve as a global platform, enabling surgeons to present and exchange proven surgical techniques and experiences, researchers to reveal cutting-edge developments in wound healing and novel materials, and residents to acquire and integrate new knowledge into their practices.

This congress will provide a forum for meaningful discussions on practical surgical methods and outcomes in both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, fostering educational advancement and international collaboration. We are especially honored to host three world-renowned keynote speakers this year: Dr. J. Peter Rubin (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, USA), who will deliver the Songbaek Lecture, Dr. David M. Fisher (University of Toronto, Canada), and Dr. Peter C. Neligan (University of Washington, USA). Additionally, more than 100 esteemed experts from around the world will join as invited speakers to share their surgical expertise and research accomplishments.

We sincerely hope you will join us at PRS KOREA to participate in enriching academic discussions and personal exchanges, marking a significant step forward in your professional journey as a plastic surgeon.

Join and Enjoy PRS KOREA 2025.
