Greetings,
I am Kang Young Choi, president of the Korean Association for Cranio Maxillo Facial Surgery.
First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your enthusiastic interest and active participation in CMFS KOREA 2025, held in April 2025.
Founded in 1993 as the Korean Association for Cleft Palate and Related Craniofacial Anomalies, the Korean Association for Cranio Maxillo Facial Surgery has now celebrated its thirtieth anniversary. Throughout these three decades, thanks to the tremendous dedication and effort of our members, we have firmly established ourselves as the premier association in the field of craniofacial surgery, encompassing not only congenital deformities but all areas related to craniofacial surgery.
In November, we will jointly host PRS KOREA 2025.
First, at CMFS KOREA 2025, we reaffirmed the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to craniofacial surgery by collaborating with the Korean Speech-Language and Hearing Association and involving the Department of Orthodontics for the first time in plastic surgery history. We plan to explore this significant development in greater detail.
Second, we have consolidated our members' extensive experience and hard work over the past 30 years to complete the first comprehensive textbook on craniofacial surgery. We will organize a publication ceremony to celebrate this meaningful achievement together with all our members.
Third, although our association already holds a prominent position on the global stage, our Korean and English names have previously differed. To clearly reflect our representative role in the field of craniofacial surgery internationally, we have officially changed our English name from the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (KCPCA) to the Korean Association for Cranio Maxillo Facial Surgery (KACMFS). An English name proclamation ceremony will be held to mark this important step.
We kindly request your continued interest and enthusiastic participation in PRS KOREA 2025, an event where the wisdom of our senior members, the extensive experience of our mid-career members, and the passion of our new members will converge for the textbook publication and English name proclamation ceremonies.
Kang Young Choi, M.D., Ph.D,
President of the Korean Association for Cranio Maxillo Facial Surgery
Dear Colleagues, Members, and Guests:
The Korean Association of Oculoplastic Surgery (KAOPS), under the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS), has held regular seminars and symposiums to discuss a wide range of opinions and surgical techniques in oculoplastic surgery. These efforts have helped us develop valuable expertise and enabled us to advance evidence-based medicine in oculoplastic surgery for Asian patients. Greetings,
I am Ji‑Ung Park, President of the Korean Plastic Surgery Research Council. On behalf of our Council, I extend a warm welcome to all attendees of PRS KOREA 2025 and express our deep honor in participating in this landmark event.
Currently, the field of plastic surgery faces multiple internal and external challenges, including limitations in expanding academic and clinical domains, as well as encroachment by other specialties in reconstructive and aesthetic fields. In these times, it is imperative to identify new emerging disease groups and evolve our specialty to address conditions relevant to an aging and technologically advanced society.
In this context, deepening basic research, integrating and advancing translational research for practical applications, and effectively linking these with clinical practice are essential. Pioneering advanced medical devices and regenerative medicine through research in tissue engineering, biomaterials, digital therapeutics, and artificial intelligence (AI) will be key driving forces shaping the future of plastic surgery. I firmly believe that substantial growth and development of our specialty can only be achieved when such studies are closely connected to clinical practice.
To support these objectives, PRS KOREA 2025 has prepared diverse programs, including keynote lectures delivered by speakers from various disciplines, aimed at promoting interdisciplinary research and development (R&D) and uncovering novel ideas and possibilities. Furthermore, we have organized specialized sessions covering tissue engineering, genomics, wound healing, peripheral nerve regeneration, hemodynamics, digital healthcare with AI, research funding strategies, practical application and entrepreneurial experiences, and multiple industrial sessions in collaboration with leading R&D companies.
We sincerely hope that the sessions hosted by the Korean Plastic Surgery Research Council at PRS KOREA 2025 will facilitate the expansion and advancement of academic plastic surgery, becoming a vibrant platform for exchanging creative and innovative ideas that produce tangible results, thereby fueling the next major leap forward in our specialty.
We hope that you thoroughly enjoy the world-renowned PRS KOREA 2025, and that this event inspires you and provides a meaningful and valuable experience.
Thank you.

Dear esteemed members,
We are delighted and honored to invite you to the 3rd Forum of the Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons at PRS KOREA 2025.
Our association, officially registered with the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in 2014, has actively engaged members interested in the treatment of maxillofacial trauma and fractures through informal gatherings. Since our inaugural meeting at Chungnam National University Hospital on August 28, 2014, we have now celebrated our 11th anniversary and have held a total of 40 regular meetings. The diverse cases presented, and the in-depth discussions facilitated by our association have significantly contributed to advancing facial trauma care and research in Korea.
While Korean plastic surgery is internationally renowned for its achievements in aesthetics, its contributions and accomplishments in facial trauma are also highly significant. In Europe, oral and maxillofacial surgery primarily manages facial trauma patients, whereas in the United States, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, and oral surgery collaborate closely in patient care. However, in Korea, plastic surgery takes the lead role in managing facial bone fractures and trauma patients.
The field of facial trauma and reconstruction, pioneered by René Le Fort and Harold Gillies more than 100 years ago, remains fundamental to modern plastic surgery. Our association continues to enhance care quality by discussing actual clinical cases and exploring multidisciplinary collaboration through lectures from invited experts across various trauma-related fields.
This year is especially meaningful, as the textbook Craniomaxillofacial Traumatology has been selected as a recommended academic book by the Sejong Book Program, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This accomplishment reflects our members' dedicated research and ongoing commitment. We look forward to further improving this textbook in subsequent editions.
We sincerely request your enthusiastic interest and active participation in the upcoming 3rd Forum, which will take place from November 9 to 11, 2025, at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel. Please join us in celebrating the recognition of Craniomaxillofacial Traumatology as a Sejong-recommended book.

Greetings.
I am Jong-Woo Choi from Asan Medical Center, President of the Korean Head and Neck Reconstruction Study Group.
Head and neck reconstruction is an essential area within plastic surgery, encompassing reconstruction of not only the face but also the skull, orbit, maxilla, mandible, nasal cavity, and pharyngolaryngeal region. Reconstructive surgery is particularly crucial following the surgical removal of cancers affecting the face and the head and neck. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our predecessors, it is now the right time for more young plastic surgeons to engage actively and further advance this important field.
This year, the Korean Head and Neck Reconstruction Study Group will host an international symposium featuring renowned international speakers. The symposium sessions will include topics such as scalp reconstruction, maxillary and mandibular reconstruction, and reconstructive approaches for the tongue, nasopharynx, oropharynx, and hypopharynx. We eagerly anticipate the active participation of many plastic surgeons as speakers and research contributors.
To date, numerous distinguished micro-reconstructive plastic surgeons from around the globe have confirmed their participation, including Rene Largo from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Ed Chang from Texas, Kongkrit Chaiyasate from Michigan, and Frederik Kolb from UC San Diego.
Through your enthusiastic participation, we expect to significantly enhance the quality of life for patients suffering from head and neck cancers and various facial deformities. We sincerely look forward to your continued support and encouragement.
Thank you.

President of K Head & Neck Forum
Greetings, we wish all our members peace and happiness.
We would like to express our sincere respect and appreciation for the dedication shown by our members, who continue to serve in the medical field despite numerous challenges.
PRS KOREA 2025 will be held from November 9 to 11, 2025, and the Korean Academic Association of Skin Cancer Surgeons (KASC), affiliated with the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, will participate. Established in 2022, KASC is now in its fourth year and operates under the vision of the “Skin Cancer Global Initiative.” We conduct seminars twice yearly and have hosted two sessions at PRS KOREA annually since 2023, featuring comprehensive presentations and discussions on skin cancer led by international speakers. Over the years, KASC has harnessed the expertise of its 15 committee members to investigate and advance the latest developments in skin cancer, a topic previously considered peripheral to plastic surgery. We strive continuously to achieve academic excellence and global leadership in this specialty.
This year’s symposium will focus on cutting-edge surgical approaches to skin cancers located in the perineal area, where reconstruction is notably complex, as well as on sarcoma management.
We warmly encourage the attendance of many members, fellows, and residents at this symposium, aiming to foster a valuable learning and sharing experience.
